Cordoba, Spain  7.1.13

3 sections of the historic part of Cordoba -
Jewish - Muslim - Christian

Pics are of the Jewish Quarter and Masque turned into Cathedral.
Synagogue was closed today and if you know me well you know that this was a great disappointment.
The synagogue is no longer in use (due to persecution of the Jewish people) but you can see and feel the history surrounding it.
The original Masque dates back to the 9th century and the Cathedral is 14th century.
One photo is of discovered area after excavation that dates 500 years after Christ. (under glass on floor)
One photo that is of a column encased in glass is where a christian man was tied up and tortured ( he clawed out the grooves), until his death. That was when it was a Masque and later that became part of a Catholic Cathedral.
Religion.
No more words...only pictures.

Jewish Quarter....
